CARTIER - a mid 20th century 18ct gold platinum sapphire and diamond turtle brooch. With brilliant-cut diamond and circular-shape sapphire rope-twist lattice carapace, sapphire eyes and textured limbs. Signed Cartier. Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct. French assay marks. Length 4cms. Weight 15.4gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
- Some possible gem replacements.
- Some claws show evidence of re-working.
- Replacement fittings, with minor pitting and solder marks.
- Diamonds well matched and bright.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Sapphires are a fairly well matched, medium deep, violetish blue hue. Some with slight variation in tone and saturation.
- Sapphires in good condition with small nicks.
- Estimated dimensions of a sapphire 2.7mms. Unable to assess depth due to setting.
- Number to reverse of one flipper indistinct, ends in 5.
