Condition Report

KUTCHINKSY - a 1960s diamond, sapphire and turquoise brooch. Designed as a textured bow, with circular-shape sapphire and brilliant-cut diamond clusters atop pave-set turquoise accents. Maker's marks for Kutchinsky. Estimated total diamond weight 0.35ct, principal diamond estimated H-I colour, VS2-SI1 clarity. Hallmarks for London, 1966. Length 6.9cms. Weight 29.1gms.

  • Overall condition good. Surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement brooch pin.
  • Diamonds well matched and bright.

  • Principal diamond assessed within the limitations of the setting, grades may differ.
  • Principal diamond estimated weight 0.25ct.
  • Individual size and setting of non-principal diamond prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
  • Diamonds have few, minor inclusions.
  • Turquoise are a fairly well matched slightly mottled light medium to medium deep blue hues.
  • Turquoises in good condition.
  • Sapphires are well matched, deep, violetish blue hue.
  • Sapphires in good condition with small nicks and nibbles. Some with surface reaching feather inclusions.
