A continental late 19th century toy bureau bookcase.

Condition Report

A late nineteenth century continental silver toy or miniature bureau bookcase, modelled in eighteenth century Dutch style with twin hinged doors above a fall front and three serpentine front drawers, decorated throughout with putti and figurative scenes within scrolled surrounds. Likely Hanau psuedo-marks including the letter R below a crown, also import hallmarks for Edwin Thompson Bryant, London 1891 alongside the Foreign Mark. Maximum height measures 6 3/8 inches (16.2 cm), gross weight 8.59 ozt (267.2 grams).

Purchasing information
    The bureau displays some general wear, surface marks and scratches in keeping with the age and use. Also some tarnishing. Small dints and bumps, especially around edges. Splits starting to appear at some corners and some folded over edges. Small piece of handle missing from top drawer. Likely small repairs to other areas. Hinged doors etc all appear in working order. Hallmarks are mostly legible and with corresponding part hallmarks to removable sections.
