Condition Report

An early 20th century gold diamond, seed pearl and turquoise brooch. The old-cut diamond, within a split pearl surround, to the similarly-set foliate edge with cabochon turquoise spacers. Diameter 2.2cms. Weight 3.8gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear and age. Clasp deficient. Estimated diamond weight 0.01ct. The diamond is bright and lively. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The split pearls are in fairly good to poor condition some with heavy cracks, all are well matched for colour, some showing discolouration due to age. One of the turquoise is heavily damaged and requires replacement The turquoise are moderately well matched for colour with bright blue to a slightly greenish-blue discoloured due to age.
