A late Victorian silver caster.

Description

Condition Report

A late Victorian silver caster, the wrythen moulded bulbous body above a footed base and the conforming shape removable cover having stylised piercing of floral and foliate motifs and a flame finial. Hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co (William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman), London 1898. Height to finial measures 8 1/8 inches (20.5 cm), weight 8.55 ozt (265.8 grams).

Purchasing information
    The caster displays expected wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches. A few minor dints. Solder repair to the foot and creases in the metal. The lid is a good fit. A seam or construction line is visible around the middle of the lid. Hallmarks are a little rubbed but still legible, also full hallmarks to lid.
