Condition Report

A late Victorian silver and gold diamond brooch. Designed as an old-cut diamond ribbon, with interwoven old and rose-cut diamond floral quatrefoil. Estimated total diamond weight 2.50cts. Principal diamonds estimated weight 1.30cts, I-J colour, SI clarity. Length 3.2cms. Weight 8.8gms. With Hancocks case.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear and slight discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Brooch fitting detachable. Hinged loop to be worn as a pendant.
  • Diamonds well matched and bright.

  • Principal diamonds assessed within the limitations of the setting, grades may differ.
  • Principal diamonds with few small scattered inclusions visible under 10x magnification. Some diamonds with shallow chips.
  • Non-principal diamonds too small to accurately assess colour and clarity.
  • Estimated total diamond weight 2.50cts.
  • Width (at widest) 3cms.
  • Handcocks case is not contemporary and does not fit the jewel.
