ASPREY - a 1970s sapphire, diamond and enamel novelty brooch. The yellow enamel duckling, with circular-shape sapphire and single-cut diamond eyes, to the textured wing, crest and black enamel inner beak. Enamel AF. Maker's mark for Asprey&Co. Length 3.5cms. Weight 11.4gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition fair. Some surface wear in keeping with general wear. Extensive later lacquer restoration to the enamel, with a thick and uneven appearance. Some chipped areas. Sapphires blue, fair to dark colour saturation with colour zones. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions. Sapphires in fair condition with some abrasion and nibbles. Individual size prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Minor inclusions visible under magnification. Diamonds in fair to good condition, generally with minor abrasion, some with significant nicks. Panel to the reverse inner surface of the duckling stamped Made in Italy for Asprey, 750=18ct, 19. Double pin stamped A&Co.Ltd, 18, 750. Maker's mark to pin.
