Condition Report

Two items of gold Victorian memorial jewellery, to include a marquise-shape woven hair panel brooch, together with a woven hair panel and black paste surround ring. Each with personal inscription. Length of brooch 2.9cms. Weight 7.3gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear and age. There are patches of heavier discolouration to the reverse of the brooch, which has a base metal replacement pin. The inscription on the brooch reads, 'M. D.ob. Jul 23rd. 1853'. The two inscriptions on the ring read 'Agnes Burns Born 22d Apr 1816 died 1st Jan 1820'. 'John Burns born 30th July 1819 died Jany 1820. The black paste are abraded and some are chipped. Ring size S.
