Condition Report

A mid 20th century diamond bar brooch. The brilliant-cut diamond, within a circular and single-cut diamond tapered panel, to the single-cut diamond bar sides. Principal diamond estimated weight 1ct, I-J colour, P1 clarity. Netherlands marks. Length 8.1cms. Weight 7.2gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface wear in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Replacement principal stone setting, minimal soft solder to the reverse.

  • Principal diamond bright. Large surface reaching inclusion, extending from the table towards the girdle, alongside further inclusions, visible to the unaided eye. Assessed within the limits of the mount. Good condition with minor nicks.

  • Outer diamonds bright and well matched. Estimated total outer diamond weight 1.40cts. Generally minor to scattered inclusions visible under magnification. Diamonds in good condition with minor abrasion.

  • Individual size and setting of the outer diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Netherlands marks to mount and pin.
