Condition Report

A mourning ring. The early 19th century marquise-shape ivory panel, painted to depict a maiden writing in a book, to the later collet and band. Band with hallmarks for Birmingham, 1957. Total weight 5.9gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The marquise-shape ivory panel is early 19th century, combined with various later components.
  • There is a significant chip to the glass and areas of scratches.
  • Significant dirt beneath the glass, there is a central crack to the ivory, the painted detail is heavily worn in places.
  • The rope-twist surround is worn.
  • Ring size N.
