A late 19th century pique tortoiseshell brooch. The oval-shape foliate drop, to the bow surmount. Length 4.8cms.

Overall condition good.
Pique work in good condition, surface scratches on the tortoiseshell in keeping with age and wear.
Possibly adapted from a larger item of jewellery.
The sale of ivory, tortoiseshell and other materials derived from endangered species is limited by CITES regulations to 'worked' pieces dating prior to 1947, and the export of such pieces outside the EU would require an export licence to be obtained from DEFRA.
