Condition Report

Two early to mid 19th century gem-set brooches. The first designed a a foil-back garnet and split pearl cluster brooch, the second designed as a cushion-shape amethyst brooch. Lengths 1.4 and 1.5cms. Weight 4.6gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The split pearl brooch pin is possibly base metal.
  • The garnet and amethyst have light surface scratches and nibbles to the facet edges.
  • The split pearls have moderate nacre damage.
