A pair of continental candlesticks.

Condition Report

A pair of continental candlesticks, each of plain tapered form with hexagonal splayed base, together with two associated detachable plated nozzles. Stamped 800. Height measuring 10 6/8 inches (27.5 cm), gross weight excluding nozzles 12.6 ozt (394.9 grams).

Purchasing information
    In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The two associated detachable nozzles are circular and do not fit the sconces, both appear unmarked. The candlesticks would benefit from a clean and polish. Remnants of melted wax and burnt wicks visible to the interior of the sconces and nozzles. Each has a cover to the base which is held in place with a screw thread. Stamped 800 alongside an 'A1' mark, further stamped 31 or 32 in a circular shield. The candlesticks test as 85% silver.
