A Chinese export silver cocktail shaker.

Condition Report

A Chinese export silver cocktail shaker, the tapered form with a hammered finish throughout and having decorative bamboo leaf borders to the upper body, the removable lid with small handle and a bayonet style fitting and a further lid to the spout suspended on a chain. Stamped 'Silver' to the foot rim alongside character marks and a maker's mark, slightly distorted but possibly reading C. J. & Co (Shanghai, circa 1875-1920). Maximum height measures 10 1/4 inches (26 cm), gross weight 23.69 ozt (736.8 grams).

Purchasing information
    The shaker appears in good overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface scratches and marks commensurate. Some tarnishing and would benefit from a polish. The marks around the foot rim are a little rubbed and distorted.
