Condition Report
A 1920's silver presentation box, for cigarettes and matches, the square form engraved 'The Gift of the Goldsmiths Company A.D 1327-1927', with striking edge to one side, the hinged lid decorated in low relief with the coat-of-arms of the Goldsmiths Company and opening to a presentation engraving verso. Hallmarked Garrard & Co Ltd., London 1926, with Garrard retailer's stamp to base. Measuring 3 5/8 inches (9.2 cm) square, weight 9.71 ozt (302 grams).

Purchasing information-
The box appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing and a few minor edge nicks. Many heavier scratched and contact marks around the edge of the underside of base. Hinged lid in good working order and closes well, lifts very slightly to one corner where there is a small dint. Hallmarks clear and legible.
Engraving reads 'Presented to Horace Palgrave Page Liveryman of the Goldsmiths Company in Commemoration of the 600th Anniversary of the granting of the Company's first Charter.'
