Condition Report

A selection of silver to include a pair of late Victorian silver-gilt cup holders, the openwork circular forms with two cherubs either side of a vacant cartouche, one picking fruits the other playing an instrument, each with zoomorphic style handles, hallmarked William Comyns & Sons Ltd., Birmingham 1897, width measures 2 inches (5cm). Together with an early twentieth large silver cigarette case, of plain oblong form with engraved monogram and push button mechanism, Chester 1916, a pair of Chinese export silver teaspoons, a 1930's five bar silver toast rack, etc. Gross weight 11.51 ozt (358.3 grams).

Purchasing information
    In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor splits to the openwork on the cup holders with some minor loss of definition to the decoration and around edges, one holder is lighter in appearance to the silver-gilt than the other. Minor bumps and dents to the cigarette case, the monogram is noticeably rubbed and worn, the case shuts fully flush and the push button is in good working order. The Chinese export silver teaspoons with maker's mark for Woo Shing, one further marked 'STERLING' the other '90XSILVER' which are a little rubbed, each with lotus shaped bowls and monogrammed pierced terminals. Other hallmarks clear and legible.
